ACCREDITATION SCHEME FOR SAFE AND HEALTHY WORKPLACE

Association of Health Providers of India "AHPI"- Safe and Healthy Workplace Certification Scheme # Green & Clean Hospitality Management System (GCHMS Part-II)

AHPI has developed an Accreditation Scheme for Green and Clean Hospital Management Systems (GCHMS) in the year 2017.

AHPI as a scheme owner has entered into an agreement in 2017 with USA based global International accreditation body, i.e., United Accreditation Foundation Inc (UAF) ( https://uafaccreditation.org/accreditation/accreditation-for-green-and-clean-hospital-hospitality-health-care-management-system-gchms/) for accreditation to Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) for Certification to Green and Clean Hospital Management System (GCHMS). United Accreditation Foundation Inc (UAF) is also a full member of the International Accreditation Forum ( https://www.iaf.nu/articles/IAF_MEM_USA__all/112).

Due to rapidly evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) situations around the globe, the health and safety of people are everyone's priority. We may have to witness a scene of the prolonged pandemic, COVID-19, and plan to live in new normal.

Businesses have to start operations with adequate safety measures. It may be easier to open up with comparatively simple safety measures for a few sectors or may require robust safety protocols for other areas.

Every sector has to ensure safety, health, hygiene, sanitation, and infection control on their premises.

Now, AHPI has updated the existing GCHMS accreditation scheme into one more vertical "Green & Clean Hospitality Management System" Part-II for Safe and Healthy Workplace based on ISO/IEC 17021-1: 2015.

The Accredited Certifications for GCHMS (Part II) benefit all stakeholders as follows:

  • Provide information about infection prevention and control procedures and other requirements that should be in place in organizations to help fight against Covid-19.
  • To control and maintain necessary documentation enabling organizations to make safe and hygienic production/service provisions in their facilities.
  • To certify that the facility and its workplaces have the necessary processes within GCHMS-PII, helping it fight against contagious diseases.
  • It will not only guide organizations in combating the epidemic. Still, it will also provide certification of compliance with reliable and hygienic production/ service provision standards, which will be needed in the post-epidemic period.
  • The workplace certification to GCHMS-PII applies to both manufacturing and service organizations. The specific requirements of hygiene and infection control of a particular sector will need to be addressed in relevant sections of GCHMS-PII as additional requirements. Broadly, the sectors covered under GCHMS-PII have been mentioned in Annexure 1 of UAF-CAB-GCHMS II-RV04.

United Accreditation Foundation Inc (UAF) has also updated the existing GCHMS accreditation scheme and added the "Green & Clean Hospitality Management System" Part-II accreditation scheme for a Safe and Healthy Workplace based on ISO/IEC 17021-1: 2015 as per AHPI revision.
